Our New 10 kW Hydrogen Energy System – Independent Energy Supply

Demand for independent energy systems is currently increasing, with enquiries increasingly focusing on power ranges between 10 kW and 20 kW.

Here, we introduce our new independent energy system based on hydrogen technology. The system combines photovoltaic energy, battery storage, hydrogen technology and other renewable energy sources to create an integrated energy solution.

Key Specifications at a Glance

Electrolyzer: 10 kW electrical input power for hydrogen production

Hydrogen production: 4 kg of H₂ within 24 hours

Water requirement: Approximately 36 litres of filtered water for the stated hydrogen production

Photovoltaic area: At least 50–60 m² of unshaded roof space

Technical room: Approximately 4–6 m² of indoor space for the technical components

Hydrogen storage: A 50-litre H₂ cylinder with a test pressure of 300 bar. At a filling pressure of up to 200 bar, the cylinder contains hydrogen with an energy content of 33 kWh.

System Overview

Energy supply: A 10 kW electrolyzer for hydrogen production and a 10 kW fuel cell for electricity generation. Photovoltaic energy and, depending on the system configuration, additional energy sources such as biomass, wind and hydropower can contribute to the direct electricity supply.

Seasonal energy storage: Surplus electricity is converted into hydrogen using an electrolyzer. The stored hydrogen is available for later use, particularly during winter.

Short-term storage: A battery balances fluctuations in electricity generation and consumption between day and night.

Energy independence: 100% independence from the public electricity grid throughout the year, operating in off-grid mode.

Emissions: Absolutely CO₂-free during operation.

How the System Works

Summer – Using Renewable Energy Solar power and, depending on the system configuration, energy from biomass, wind or hydropower supply the house and charge the battery.

Surplus Energy – Producing Hydrogen Surplus electricity is used by the 10 kW electrolyzer to produce green hydrogen.

Storage – Saving Energy for Winter The hydrogen produced is safely stored in suitable bundles of hydrogen cylinders.

Winter – Converting Hydrogen Back into Electricity When needed, the 10 kW fuel cell converts the stored hydrogen back into electrical energy. This electricity supplies the house and can also charge the battery storage system.

The waste heat generated, at approximately 55°C, can be used to help heat the thermal buffer tank and supply heat to the underfloor heating system.

Flexible and Expandable

The system can be expanded as required and adapted to changing needs.

Our goal: An independent energy supply in which renewable energy is not only used directly but can also be stored as hydrogen for use at a later time.
